“The Museum of Broken Relationships” by Dan Grossman

The Museum of Broken Relationships

Not long after you betrayed God with Eve
you shat out the apple.
The Museum has the fossilized shit:
You can see it in its glass case.

When Delilah cut your magnificent dreads
while you were sleeping
she used scissors made from bronze and gold.
These are on display here too.

Before Cleopatra bargained with Octavian
and faked a suicide to entice you back,
she filled her mausoleum with treasure.

The museum displays these items and more
to highlight the brokenness of the world.
As a man, you thought it was yours to break.
